Žiburinis - a phosphorescent forest spirit living inside forests. Pagan gods and fairies are deeply rooted in Lithuanian folklore and it is said that a number of mythological creatures live in the deep forests that cross the country. The Baltic States being one of the last pagan nations in Europe to become Christianized, the mythology of this region is much more recent than that of other regions. This collection explores the mystery. In foggy twilight, forests seem particularly mysterious and one may wonder what wonders they hide. In this work, the artist juxtaposes the mystery associated with forests in folklore with the mystery of artificial intelligence networks capable of creating photographs of forests of real appearance and inventing transformations of movement between still images. In order to create the visuals, the artist modified his neural network, which had been trained to generate synthetic landscapes and cities, and made him forget the characteristics of civilization by showing him only a highly selected collection of 300 forest photographs. This work represents human nature, which forgets the daily struggles when confronted with the powerful force of nature and gets lost in the mystery of the unknown.
