These transitional video artworks are the digital & experimental output from Graham’s four years of research into colour, light and the science of seeing. Vision sense evolved over five hundred million years, and in humans, it represents around eighty percent of the brain’s sensory processing capability. Our conscious experience and perception of the world around us is based largely on what we see, and the millions of shades of colour we perceive with our trichromatic vision exist only in our minds. The hues in these videos shift slowly and subtly through 3,600 variations in each sixty seconds of playback - creating a new and novel experience for the viewer’s vision sense, and a therapeutic teasing of the conscious mind.
