Katherine Robinson is a British-born photographer and visual artist based in Madrid, Spain. She creates her art by photographing the architecture, skylines and nature found in her neighbourhood - and other worldwide cities - and animating the photographs to create a chaotic moving landscape with dream-like elements. She gives everyone the opportunity to escape reality by twisting everyday objects, buildings and landscapes.
Windows - which conceal hundreds of hidden stories - light vs darkness, clouds and brutalist architecture are recurring themes in her work. She hopes to encourage viewers to see beauty in their everyday surroundings and look for the little details that would otherwise go unnoticed.

A recurring theme in my art is light and the movement of clouds, so this piece, Transend & Towers, explores both themes. The windows and lights glow with bright colours that are not usually seen in the city, while the softness of the clouds are a stark contrast to the towers in the piece. It shows that although we think our realities are defined, there’s often more under the surface than meets the eye – and there is a dual side to every situation.
