El Toro is the real-life moniker for a huge set of 20 stairs, located at El Toro High school in Lake Forest California. El Toro is a proving ground of sorts, where skaters put their bodies (and careers) on the line in an attempt to go big and get a trick that has never been done before. El Toro’s infamy inspired me to create an animated scale replica, with a trick of my own that has never been done there before. It gave me an opportunity to focus on interesting perspectives, realism, detail work and sound effects.

In 2019 the stairs were demolished and rebuilt with a gate to prevent anyone from trying tricks again.
