"Big Atmosphere" is part of the mini series “The Physics of Sunsets” which was born out of explaining to my 9 month old (a rather one sided conversation!) the science behind how colors form during sunsets. This series aims to highlight different sunsets on imagined, science fiction planets.
The scape was created in the VR program Gravity Sketch and then brought into Blender for further scape-making, texturing, and animating. Photogrammetry scans of plants were brought into the scene. Video assets were created with video feedback, code, and various glitch processes to map onto objects in the scape.
