Hannes Hummel

Hannes Hummel is an interdisciplinary designer and digital artist based in Cologne, Germany, specializing in 3D animation. His many projects deal with the intersection between new technologies and traditional design professions. Guided by an exploratory approach to design, Hannes is constantly looking for new forms of creative expression. Through interdisciplinary work undertaken on his own initiative, he constantly develops and redefines his visual style. His works express a refined search for a modern aesthetic applied to still life scenarios, whose meticulous technique suggests that the work is a real video capture. Hannes' recent creations explore the mathematical and symmetrical rules of complex organic structures, bringing hypnotic works to life.

Hannes has received numerous awards (such as Design Made In Germany, Games for Change Europe, New media Awards, A MAZE.Berlin, etc.) and his work has been the subject of numerous major exhibitions. (Art Basel Miami, Contemporary Calgary, Autodesk Exhibition, Print Screen Festival, Stroke Art Fair, NFT Liverpool, etc.). Telopea

The artwork Telopea is an integral part of the "Artificial Bloom" series, an ongoing art project initiated in 2020, showcasing the fascinating array of organic forms in the natural world through a series of hyperrealistic botanical 3D-animations.

The artwork features a blend of mathematical symmetry, tessellations, and intricate patterns, inspired and reinterpreted by the artist's observations of plants and their various elements. Using different procedural systems allows for movement and growth, making the digital plant appear alive and in a state of constant evolution.
