Mikhail Parkhomenka is an independent digital artist born in 1992 in Mogilev, Belarus. In 2009, Mikhail joined the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, graduating in 2014. He then graduated as a software developer. In 2015, he decided to quit his job in computer science to devote himself entirely to cinematography and film making. Three years later, in 2018, he began his film studies at the Moscow School of New Cinema, graduating in 2020.
Today based in Minsk, he develops an art whose primary characteristics are their loop structure, repetition of patterns and their singular colors, which aspire to bring the viewer into a kind of trance state. In particular, he works on the links between art, science and digital, combining video, sound design and digital technologies. His original comic and ironic works are an attempt to understand and recreate a reality that subtly turns to the surreal. In short, his art is a clever mix between a manipulation of perception, the state of trance, the universe of retro-futurism and that of breathtaking games.
