Multidisciplinary visual artist Lela Amparo uses machine learning (GAN) to create ethereal, painterly visual imagery that captures an otherworldly atmosphere. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and now residing in Sweden, Lela bases each of her creations off of data set of photographs she’s curated from her travels over the years. She describes her software as “cooking” her photographs, combining and mixing them to create delightful conglomerates of blended photographs. Rooted in photography, her practice is now firmly establishing itself in the field of digital art. At the intersection of the tactile and the intangible, Lela’s images are from places she’s visited, but have merged into new and otherworldly environments.

With over 11 million streams, Lela is also an ambient music producer who merges her music and art to make a multi-sensory experience for the viewer. She specialises and takes great pleasure in transporting the viewer and listener to a different dimension. Lela’s enchanting abstract works have earned her international recognition. They were displayed at exhibitions such as Digital Art Week 2024 in London, Forgotten Places 2023 in Rome, and Contemporary Abstract 2023 in Kansas City. She’s also had a residency at Frameless in London in 2023, and has been published in media including Forbes Magazine in 2024, Digital Arts Blog 2024, and AL-TIBA9 Art Magazine in 2023, among many others.
