Kris Meeusen is a creative coder and designer with a playful approach to design, known for his expertise in generative design and the digital installations he’s created over the last decade. His practice utilizes big data, human curiosity, and a tension between playfulness and functionality. Through his minimalist abstract works, he explores and experiments with motion, studying how objects of different shapes, textures and materials interact in quasi-scientific ‘voids’ of color.
As the founder of Lab101, Kris develops interactive installations that have been featured at festivals and museums around the globe. He has worked with notable clients and institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, Cisco, the fashion museum of Antwerp (MoMu), and the Royal Academy of Antwerp, to name a few. Kris also shares his knowledge and passion as a teacher of interaction design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
