ELIZA STRUTHERS-JOBIN

Eliza Struthers-Jobin is a Montreal artist and programmer based in Paris. Her work is playful and game-based. It explores our senses and perception, often through the creation of immersive interactive audiovisual installations. She often uses tracking and machine learning to transpose the audience in real time into digital spaces parallel to our own. She is interested in the subtleties of sound and movement, and the different ways that spaces can influence what they contain. For example, her digital sculptures are molded by invisible but equally powerful waves that vibrate and traverse the digital space that contains them. The artist is present in many festivals and galleries around the world: Burning Man, Black Rock City – EP7, Paris – Night Lights, Denver – LightBox, NYC – Neo Shibuya, Tokyo – Botanica, San Francisco – Digital Art Month, Paris.

PARSE / ERROR

Working under the pseudonym Parse/Error, Fabien Bouchard is a French artist based in Marseille. Self-taught, his work is born from the meeting between art, design and technology and deals with the interaction between man and nature, in a world invaded by digital and new uses of communication. With a scientific and computer background, he uses new technologies and science to question current issues from different angles, at the border of several creative worlds. After studies in biology, then in new information technologies, and professional experiences in the world of the web, he observed for 10 years the contemporary creativity and its new forms of expression by creating and editing the web magazine UFUNK. He now structures his work around the entity Parse/Error, in order to propose concrete projects centered on the issues he cares about. While seeking to recreate emotions from the increasingly omnipresent data flows, he oscillates at the interface between technology and human sensitivity. Carried by a shifted glance, his artistic practice mixes openly digital and generative art, 3D printing, connected objects, wood, painting, street-art, electronics, light, immersive installations and real-time data.)

DEEP-SEA CREATURE I

An experience inspired by the mysterious creatures that inhabit the ocean floor, by the fragile beauties that nature offers us and that we often don’t even know how to perceive. A generative experience based on chance, playing with movement and color to create a creature in constant evolution.

COLOR FLOW

An endless flow of particles and colors, an ever-changing composition inspired by the movements of nature. This creation is also a tribute to the famous Japanese artist and wood engraver Hiroshi Yoshida. It uses the color palettes of this amazing artist to generate hypnotic waves.

STRANGE ATTRACTOR

A creation that invites the viewer to dive into a constantly changing murmur. Inspired by the movements of nature, Strange Attractor is also a tribute to the powerful energy of Chinese and Japanese calligraphy. When complex equations and chance draw an endless choreography… A study of energy and motion, a system based on the noise of curvature and the strange attractor (dadras).

RICH WELLS

After a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Industry and Product Design at the University of Salford, Rich Wells started out as a freelance designer for 3 years. He is now creative director at Yoomee. A photographer at heart, he captures moments and turns them into 3D digital collages in which the viewer is invited to travel. Rich Wells’ approach consists in capturing the moment, through images and sounds, which are then reworked on computer.

BEHIND THE SCENES

The Artist himself talks about his approach: “I think I have tried to merge worlds, to integrate the experience of nature into my digital existence. I don’t see these collages as videos to watch, but rather as moments in a stream. Like the outdoors, they are free.

WINTER GARDENS

The artist himself talks about his approach: “I don’t ask you anything. Stay as little or as long as you like. Think of it as one of those benches on the side of a hill with a view. There’s a time-worn brass plaque that says “Rich was here. He loved this place. (He invented it too).

BODNANT GARDENS 2021

Digital collage allows Rich Wells to unite in a single work of art all that makes up the richness of a moment, giving it an eternal value.

AUTUMN TREE TUNNEL 2020

Paradoxically, it is when the screens are far away that inspiration comes to him. He confides, “When I go out into the hills, my perspective changes – I am reminded of how small and temporary life is. I am not the center of the universe. These roads, these trees, these skies have been here forever and will be here long after I die. But I am here right now and I want to enjoy it, appreciate this moment, this place, this gift. To stop and be grateful.”
